Be Fit, Stay Young
“FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH DISCOVERED!”
Ponce de Leon looked for it in the Everglades but got lost. He was looking in the wrong place for the wrong thing.
Today, we know these secrets of eternal youth by another name. Exercise.
The drive to stay young has sent people into some pretty weird places. Especially today. But now we’re finally able to reveal the secrets of life-extending, youth-regenerating powers that’ll keep you fit, trim and filled with energy into your 50s, 60s, even 70s and 80s! It’s no elixir, either, costing a fortune in gold. Just keep reading to change the way you view aging forever…
Most people start losing 12% of their muscle strength and 6% of their muscle mass for every decade after 50. Put another way, every year past 30 your metabolism slows by 1%. That means by 50, your metabolism is operating at only 80% capacity of age 30. I don’t know about you, but a loss of 20% anything scares me. Specifically, this means the metabolic machinery that I depend on to burn fat and build muscle is eroding. It’ll be down 40% by 70!
As your body mechanism winds down, energy output dwindles and you start laboring going uphill. Even a little hill. Next thing and you’re in the doctor’s office for an overhaul, er, checkup. Which means pills, probes, procedures, and advice that we have no intention of following…
Suddenly, man—you’re old.
Tapping Your Inner Fountain of Youth
Even worse if you start acting like it. Age can mean slowing down, gaining weight, sore muscles, cracking joints. Ouch! What lies back of it all is disuse. Yes, disuse, as in a lack of doing. That little twinge in your lower back can steadily morph into, you know, a “problem.” That glitch in your knee? Forget about it. That’s your next “issue.” This stuff never happens when you’re young; only with an awareness of your limitations, the belief that less exercise is better.
Let’s say it together: Wrong!
I’ve personally fixed more bad backs and bum knees than the medical staff at County General just with strength-training techniques that use strict form. Point is, you feel the effects of aging quickest when you neglect your body. Have you ever noticed how carefree kids are at play? Caution only creeps in later to slow them down. Who says you have to pay that price?
The Answer is Exercise
Fight that and regain your youthful vitality. Exercise! Studies show that most people regain 1/3 or more of their muscle mass after participating in exercise of only a few months. Research time and again proves that seniors who exercise regularly statistically live longer than those who don’t. Oddly enough!
But what if you’re not 50 yet, or even 40? Why not just let the old folks complain over their Bingo? You’re young, after all. Not so fast, sonny. Making exercise part of your daily routine now will arm you against “fogeyism,” a dread condition wherein the sufferer buckles under the onslaught of ageing. They get creaky and cranky. Dodge that fate. Exercise early and often.
You’ll lose weight, increase your strength and lean muscle, and get plenty of other good benefits:
- Deeper sleep cycles
- Better blood profile
- Thicker bone density
- Longer life expectancy
- Strengthened cardiovascular health
- More deeply satisfying sexual relations
- Decreased risk of life-threatening diabetes, insulin resistance, heart disease
- Enhanced muscle strength
- Lower blood pressure
- Improved psychological health
- Increased mobility and flexibility
- Richer quality of life
More deeply satisfying… Um.
It’s a fact that regular exercise helps keep you younger even as you age. And that’s physical and mental youth, too.
Harnessing Your Secret Power
Participating in physical fitness will make you feel vibrant and virile. In fact, regular exercise and good nutrition are vital to good health, longevity and quality of life. Coupled with a proper cardiovascular routine benefits are often dramatic. Making that decision, though, is key; you have to want to. At HIPERFIT, we put our extensive expertise to work successfully on your behalf. Look, you want results, you’ve got to take action. Start with our offer of a free assessment, and learn how HIPERFIT can transform your body through high performance fitness.
Now, let’s cure that aching back in six easy steps:
| Disclaimer: Do not, repeat, do NOT attempt the following if you are under a doctor’s care, suspect serious underlying damage, or have an hereditary predisposition for bad backs! EXERCISE YOUR COMMON SENSE AS WELL AS YOUR BODY! Savvy? |
Here we go:
- Lie prone (face down) on the floor. Use a mat or rug beneath you for comfort.
- Tighten your abdominals. Keep them contracted throughout the exercise.
- Maintain a Sphinx position (resting on your elbows with arms extended). Slowly lower your forehead until it touches the floor. Feel the stretch in your lower back.
- Slowly raise your chin. Easy! Try looking at the ceiling. Feel your lower back muscles contract in a“crunch.” Hold for a 2-count. Never attempt to push yourself higher by using your arms! You want to crunch your lower back, not over-hyperextend it.
- Repeat steps 3 & 4 slow and controlled for 5-10 repetitions.
- Assume a supine (face up) position. Stretch your lower back by drawing your knees up toward your chin. Hug them, and hold for a count of 10. Relax.
Stay focused, and do this every other day for 2 weeks. I guarantee that you’ll become friends again with your lower back. Pretty soon you’ll even be trusting it with important things like running, carrying—even lifting weights!
